Job Description:

As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals. Your duties will include:

• Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
• Monitoring patient vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
• Helping with mobility and physical exercises as prescribed by the healthcare team
• Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
• Assisting with administering medications and other treatments as directed
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
• Documenting and reporting patient information to the nursing staff
• Ensuring patient dignity, privacy, and respect at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential
• QQI level 5 qualification in care of the elderly or similar
• A caring, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of healthcare procedures and protocols
• Ability to lift and move patients safely
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
