Job Description

To lead, support, and enhance the delivery of high-quality early learning and care (ELC) services across multiple settings. The Quality Support Manager will work closely with service providers to ensure that practices are aligned with national standards including Aistear, Síolta, Tusla regulations, and Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) guidelines. This role plays a key part in promoting reflective practice, child-centred pedagogy, and continuous professional development within the sector. Hybrid working model is available

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Improvement and Assurance

  • Support services in implementing quality frameworks including Aistear, Síolta, and the Quality and Regulatory Framework (QRF).
  • Conduct regular quality reviews, observations, and audits in early years settings.
  • Provide feedback and support in action planning following Tusla inspections or internal evaluations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016.

2. Professional Support and Capacity Building

  • Mentor and coach early years educators and managers in delivering high-quality care and education.
  • Identify training and development needs and support services in accessing appropriate CPD opportunities.
  • Promote inclusive practices and support implementation of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Charter & Guidelines.

3. Leadership and Collaboration

  • Foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement within teams.
  • Build strong relationships with early years providers, stakeholders, and relevant local and national agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and review of internal policies and procedures.

4. Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of visits, assessments, and support plans.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to service evaluations, and strategic planning.

Person Specification: Essential:

  • A minimum Level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership or quality support role in early years settings.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish early years regulatory and curriculum frameworks (Síolta, Aistear, Tusla QRF).
  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or professional development delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own transport.

Desirable:

  • Level 8 or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education Leadership, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Better Start Quality Development Service.
  • Experience supporting inclusive practice or additional needs (e.g., AIM).
